Welcome!

Welcome to the Bannock County Comprehensive Plan web site, your gateway to information and announcements during this year-long planning process.

Updating the Comprehensive Plan

Between autumn 2006 and autumn 2007, Bannock County will be updating its Comprehensive Plan. This Plan will guide land use development, resource conservation, and infrastructure and services investments in the County for the next 20 years. Read more about comprehensive plans and the schedule for this effort on the About Comprehensive Plans page.

The Planning Process

The Plan will be developed in three main phases:

1. Inventory

Where are we today?
This phase creates an overview of existing conditions, trends, and policies in the community that will form the background and context for the Plan.

2. Envision Where would we like to be in the future?

This phase explores community priorities and focuses on developing a land use plan and supporting goals and policies to help achieve a shared community vision of the future.
3. Implement How will we achieve the vision of the future?

This phase develops the draft Comprehensive Plan document and establishes an action plan of strategies and priorities for achieving goals and policies of the Plan.

Information and work products from each phase of the planning process will be made available on The Planning Process page of this site as they are developed.

Stay Involved

It is important to have as many people as possible assist in creating and refining the Plan. The many opportunities to participate will be announced on this web site under Upcoming Events. If you cannot attend a particular event, meeting summaries will be made available for review on the How to Stay Involved page. One of the best ways to stay informed is to join our e-mail list to receive announcements of upcoming events and new work products as they are made available on the site.
