Inventory

1. InventoryWhere are we today? This phase will create an overview of existing conditions, trends, and policies in the community that together form the background and context for the Plan.

During this phase of the process, the planning team will gather and prepare the following:

  • Planning Influences Report
    This report will provide an overview of current conditions in the County including sections on current and projected population, housing and neighborhoods, economic activity, natural features, environmental hazards, and community facilities and services.

  • Key Issues
    This “white paper” will highlight and describe the Key Issues that the plan will work to address. These issues will be developed and refined with the participation of elected and appointed officials, the Citizens’ and Technical Advisory Committees, and the general public.

  • Plan and Policy Summary
    This report will provide a summary of the current land use, infrastructure, transportation, and other plans of the County and its communities, as well as policies and regulations of the County and State relevant to completing the Comprehensive Plan.

  • Inventory Mapping

    As part of the inventory phase, the planning team will prepare a series of maps. These maps will illustrate the community characteristics discussed in the Planning Influences Report including land use, environmental, service, and demographic information.
